Leaders, Encourage Time Off: The Key to a Balanced and Productive Workforce

Leaders: Make sure your people take all of their vacation time.  Many Americans don’t.

The benefits of time away from work are many: physical, mental and emotional. Countless studies support the idea that taking dedicated time away from work helps employees’ well-being at work and at home, and that they are more effective when they return from time off. Employees and entire organizations benefit when people take their personal and vacation days. It isn’t enough to offer time off to employees. Leaders must take the time off themselves and encourage their people to do the same. Leaders need to model the importance of balancing hard work with dedicated time away from work.

We’ll be following our own advice and taking the next few weeks off from LinkedIn and Instagram posts to create more space to enjoy the waning days of summer.
